The romantic hill city of Shillong, with its simplicity and natural beauty is another sought after honeymoon destination. The Shillong Peak is an ideal picnic spot and offers a panoramic view of the country side. The city is known for its waterfalls, lakes, museums, churches and mountains.

The Lake Hydari Park is also an ideal picnic spot and it also has a mini zoo situated near it. Honeymooners love to visit the Wards Lake which is an artificial lake with a garden and boating facilities. Sounds romantic!

Other spots worth visiting are the Bishop and Beadon Falls, Elephant Falls and Umiam Lake to name a few. The ideal time to visit the ‘Scotland of East’ would be from March to April.
