Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir as we all are very well aware of, is famous for its lakes, houseboats, rivers, and beautiful snow covered mountains. The Dal Lake attracts honeymooners all over India.

There is not one single hotel in this world which can compete with the houseboats in the Dal Lake. Since the Dal Lake remains frozen during winter, April to October would be the best time to go there.

Also one must visit the Shalimar Bagh which is known for its exquisite sculptures, designs and architecture. Emperor Jahangir dedicated this to his wife Nur Jahan, and ever since it has attracted lovers.

Other places worth visiting are Hari Parbat, Gulmarg, Hazratbal mosque, to name a few. Romantic couples could also go there in winters and have fun in the snow. This ‘Paradise on Earth’ is thus one of the sought after honeymoon destinations because of the lush valleys, clear lakes and ideal climate
